School Profile:

Adcote School is an independent day and boarding school for girls. It is the only all girl independent school for pupils ages 4 -18 in Shropshire, where it is located in 30 acres of beautiful countryside, the main body of which is contained within a Grade 1 listed building. It is surrounded by twenty-seven acres of gardens and playing fields, and the buildings were designed to Tudor specifications

Academic Success:

Students must take four subjects on entering into sixth form, with a variety of traditional to more contemporary subjects available to choose from when studying at GCSE and iGCSE level.

Boarding and Pastoral Care for students:

At Adcote School it welcome boarders from the age of 8 years old  through to the Sixth Form,. It offers a safe, caring and disciplined environment in a school where privacy and independence are respected, and where the girls can enjoy companionship, fun and a lively programme of boarding activities.

Each student has a personal tutor to offer friendship, support and guidance. In addition to tutors, responsibility for the care, personal development, welfare and general happiness of boarders rests with the resident Senior Housemistress who is assisted by two other House mistresses and a team of matrons.  

Extracurricular Activities:

The arts programmes play a major  role at Adcote school, especially in maintaining the ethos of the school, which is not only just concerned with continuing academic success at the highest possible level, but to prepare the girls to become ladies of the future, with the emphasis as much on character as anything else.

The school also has inter-house drama competition as well as several productions a year. Theatre studies and drama, dance and singing can be studied at GCSE and A Level.
