Badminton School is an independent boarding and day school for girls aged between 3 and 18 and situated in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, England.  It only takes 1.5 hours to travel from Badminton School to Heathrow Airport and the school is easily accessed from London.  The School has been one of top rating girl schools that which is renowned for its excellent performance in science.  Bristol is England’s the sixth biggest city and Iron age with evidence of ancient forts and Roman villas in the surrounding countryside with the harbour.  The harbour has stood since the 13th century due to its excellent location upon the River Avon.

International Scholarships

Scholarships and Exhibitions which carry remission on fees are available and awarded to girls with particular talents entering Junior School in Years 5 or 6, or the Senior School in Years 7, 9 and Lower Sixth and are taken at the same time as the entrance exams.  There are awards made on academic grounds which may be general or subject-specific, such as a "STEM" award and the rewards which recognise the girls' ability in the fields of sport, music and art, as well as all-rounder awards.

Academic Success:

According to statistics in the past years, there are about 85% - 95% of graduates achieved A* - B in the A-Level examination and over 80% of pupils graduated with outstanding grades in A*- A. Every year there are about 10% of graduates receiving offers from Oxford and Cambridge, and 95% of pupils offer from Russell Group universities.

University Destination:

The academic results in 2019 were phenomenal 100% of girls offered conditional places at Oxbridge have successfully secured their places and will go onto reading a diverse range of subjects including Law, Medicine, Architecture, Natural Sciences and Fine Art at the world-class universities.  The girls at Badminton School achieved another year of A Level success with 61% of all grades awarded being A*- A and 84% at A*- B.  Success in STEM continues to rise at Badminton with 100% of Medics securing their university places for the fourth year running.

Boarding and Pastoral Care for students:

The girls in Badminton has always had a comfortable living environment and enjoy the independence of living away from home alongside the friendship community together. In each House, the girls have the support of a Housemistress and Resident Tutors whom all life on-site to provide dedicated support to the girls in their take care of students' in their daily lives.

There is 3 modern boarding house at badminton, the Bartlett House is especially for the girls at Years 5-8 which is easy to access the play areas and the gardens.  The Sanderson House is catering for the girls at Years 9 – 12.  The boarding house is equipped with a well-ventilated bedroom, heaters, bathroom, kitchen and shower room. The Sixth Form Centre designed for the students aged between 13 and 16 with excellent facilities, study area and social facilities

The welfare structures at Badminton Team as Form Tutors see every girl individually, and Pastoral Heads to offer guidance and advice. The school has a flexible support dedicated department so that every girl at Badminton benefits from a bespoke education.  Additional support for those who need support as English as their second language, so that girls can integrate quickly and make the most of all the opportunities.

Extracurricular Activities:

Badminton School has the first-class sports facilities of the new Sports Centre in September 2018.   The Sport England compliant flexible Sports Centre comprises of a four-court space for Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Trampolining, Hockey, Volleyball, Aerobics, Dance, Yoga and Circuits. Additionally, it has a fully equipped Fitness Suite, an Indoor Climbing Wall, Fencing Piste and 25m Indoor Swimming Pool, club-style changing rooms, and Viewing Galleries, both external and internal.  It also boasts a Sports Therapy Room for physiotherapy and sports assessments, keeping the girls and the community well.
