Lincoln Minster School is known locally as LMS or "The Minster" is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils between the ages of 2 and 18. 

At the heart of historic Lincoln and in the shadow of its magnificent cathedral quarter city in Lincolnshire, LMS pupils enjoy the mixtures of traditional values and modern education.

The school aims to provide an inspirational all-round education which combines academic achievement and self-confident with a grasp of spiritual values, the stimulation development and knowledge of pupils in all areas of school life, that is at the heart of the school.  The school pride themselves on putting the pupils first, ensure that their talents and abilities are nurtured and encouraged thus enabling them to reach their full potential.

LMS has many of the strengths from which international students will benefit.  These include a strong ESOL department and a tailored education programme for each pupil as part of their new Education Pathways offer to pupils at an early age (Business, Creative, STEM and Medical programme which has been designed particularly for the pupils at Lincoln Minster School.  The medical students' programme can also have the benefit of the experience in the Medical School at the University of Lincoln.

University Destination:

In 2019, the achievements of our pupils position us as one of the top independent schools in the East Midlands and nearly a quarter of their A-Level pupils achieved A*-A grades in the exam.  98% of pupils achieved their first choice university including Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group.

Boarding and Pastoral Care for students:

The school Housemaster aims pupils to be happy living in the boarding house with a friendly environment and a team of House Assistants who will help the pupil to settle well in the boarding house.  They are a mixed community of boys and girls, of varying nationalities.  The Mount is a Victorian house set in its own grounds with mainly twin and triple rooms – boys and girls bedrooms are in different areas of the house.

The Mount has two communal rooms where the pupils can relax and watch video games and board games where there is Wi-fi available to boarders too. There is also a music room, equipped with a piano, guitars and a microphone for you to do some music practice.  A well-equipped craft room ensures that there is always material available, whether it is for school homework projects, prep room with desks and computers so there is plenty of space for you to do homework, with staff on-hand to provide support and encouragement,

Pastoral care at Lincoln Minster School underpins everything alongside high-quality teaching and learning, ensures the success and personal development of the children care, so they flourish academically and socially.  Pupils are supported by the Head Pastoral and Safeguarding Lead, Form Tutors, dedicated Heads of the school nurse

The pastoral curriculum encourages the development of these skills through PSHCE lessons, involvement in national anti-bullying and mental health campaigns as well as the opportunity to join and lead the pupil social action and wellbeing groups. As a result, pupils are afforded opportunities to develop and exercise important life skills.

Extracurricular Activities:

Lincoln Minster School has a wide range of excellent facilities and a full range of sports fixtures, which parents are warmly invited to attend and support. Pupils can take part in athletics, swingball, badminton, cross country running, dance, gymnastics, swimming, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, cheerleading, squash, rugby, football, hockey, ballet, judo, yoga, rounders and cricket.  Horse-riding is a popular after-school activity and outdoor pursuit activities such as rowing, climbing, walking, cycling and sailing are available as clubs or through the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Lincoln Minster School recently listed in the top 100 UK Schools for Sport – and Hockey 4 Heroes have officially verified their recorded Guinness World Record for playing the highest game of field hockey at 5,019 metres above sea level in Nepal.
